In the wholesale cabinetry industry, the gap between a “good product” and a “sold product” often comes down to one thing: visual trust. For our partners—especially multi-family builders and Koville cabinetry dealers—being able to see the uncompromising quality of our RTA cabinets remotely is essential.
That is why ZASI Cabinetry is making a major upgrade to our visual infrastructure. We are integrating the newly released Full Frame Camera Sony A7V into our production workflow.
Here is why this camera is about to redefine how you see our products.
01. The Sensor The Power of the Full Frame 33MP
When photographing intricate wood grains and cabinet finishes, resolution matters, but balance is key. The Sony A7V features a 33MP (33-megapixel) Full Frame Exmor R CMOS sensor.
This specification is the “Goldilocks” zone for commercial photography. It provides enough resolution to allow our clients to zoom in on hardware details and joinery without pixelation, yet it maintains a manageable file size for web loading speeds. Unlike crop-sensor cameras, the full-frame sensor gives us a wider field of view and superior depth of field control, essential for capturing the true scale of our cabinetry.
02. Low Light Conquering the Factory Floor
Let’s be honest: a cabinet factory is not a photography studio. Lighting conditions in manufacturing warehouses are often dim or inconsistent.
In the past, capturing production-line quality meant using a tripod and slow shutter speeds, or cranking up the ISO, which introduced unwanted “noise” (grain) that ruined the texture of the wood. The Sony A7V is a powerhouse in this regard. Its advanced BIONZ XR processor and sensor architecture deliver incredible High ISO performance.
This allows us to shoot handheld at ISO 3200 or higher while maintaining pristine image clarity. We can now document the manufacturing process in real-time, under available light, without sacrificing the sharpness that our clients expect.
💡 Pro Tip: The Perfect Lens Pairing
A camera is only as good as the glass in front of it. I will be taking delivery of my pre-ordered Sony A7V in Taiwan on February 15th, and I am pairing it with the Viltrox 50mm f1.4.
- Why 50mm? It offers a field of view similar to the human eye, ensuring zero distortion.
- Why f/1.4? The ultra-fast aperture allows us to isolate specific details—like a dovetail drawer box—blurring the background to focus entirely on quality.
03. Innovation Bringing the Showroom to You
This equipment upgrade isn’t just for pretty pictures; it’s a business tool for our network. With the Sony A7V, ZASI Cabinetry is accelerating the rollout of our 360-degree product displays.
For a dealer in Texas or a builder in Florida, this means you can virtually “spin” our cabinets on your screen, inspecting the finish consistency from every angle. It is a powerful tool for closing deals and verifying specs without waiting for a physical sample.
What’s Next: KBIS 2026
I will be unboxing and configuring the new rig immediately upon delivery on February 15th. The real test, however, will be on the show floor.
I will be taking the Sony A7V and the Viltrox 50mm f1.4 to KBIS 2026 (The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show). I plan to test the setup in the dynamic, mixed-lighting environment of the trade show to capture the latest trends in the industry.
Stay tuned to the ZASI Cabinetry blog. We are about to bring you a clearer, sharper view of the future of cabinetry.
